What to contact UK Biota about
We rely on people who know a place or a species well to tell us when something here is wrong.
- A figure that does not match its source: say which page, which number, and what the source actually states. A note on where the mismatch sits, whether a stale reading, a wrong category or a simple transcription slip, helps it get checked against the source.
- A dataset you hold: landowners, recorders and local groups sometimes hold monitoring logs, survey counts or casual records that have never reached a national scheme. A description of what the dataset covers, over what area and how it was gathered, is enough to start with.
- A place with documented conservation records: the conservation case studies on this site describe a specific place, the action taken there and what was measured afterwards, each figure tied to a source. A farm, a reserve or a community project with that kind of record can be put forward for the same treatment.
- A question about the site: what it draws on, how a figure gets to a page, or how it is put together. The About page covers some of this already, but a direct question is also welcome.

Write to ukbiota with as much detail as you can give: the page, the figure or dataset in question, and a link or reference where one exists. That is usually enough to work out where it needs to go next.
